Nearby the temple, there are several hot water springs where the water flows out of the mountain cracks at the boiling point. Surya Kund is the main Kund. A pinch of rice or potatoes is tied loosely in a cloth and dip it in water; after a few minutes, it gets perfectly cooked. Visitors take these home as Prasad. Divya Shila is worshipped before worshipping goddess Yamuna, Divya Shila lies near the Surya Kund.
Gangotri:: The major highlight of Gangotri is the Temple of Bhagirathi. In this temple, you will see the idols of Goddess Ganga, Yamuna, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Parvati, and Annapurna. There is also a thick forest of deodar. The temple of Ganga lies on the right bank of the Bhagirathi (Ganga), and we can see its route in various moods deep and silent in the lower plains. However, at Gangotri, Bhagirathi is stirring, burbling, foaming, and singing an ecstatic air.
